Balanced Slim Down Plan
The Balanced Slim Down is a 40/30/30 option (40 percent of calories from healthy carbs, 30 percent from protein, and 30 percent from fats) for those who have some weight to lose or just want to streamline their diet for increased energy. This is a sound, healthy eating plan that will suit many people’s lifestyles. You’ll get plenty of protein, veggies, and essential fatty acids, plus healthful fruit and whole grains. If you’re moderately overweight or not too active, this could be your long-term plan. And if you’re already fit, this could be the right diet during times when you’re not getting as much exercise as usual.
Low-Carb Express Plan
The Low-Carb Express Plan is designed for those who want to fast-track their weight loss, or who just prefer a low-carb lifestyle. You’ll make healthy food choices designed to regulate your blood-sugar levels and enhance your metabolism. Your diet will mostly consist of a variety of protein sources, fresh vegetables, and essential fatty acids. Since this plan is lower in carbohydrates, you may have less energy for your workouts, so it’s advisable to pay attention to your energy levels and switch to a higher-carb plan if necessary. If you are very overweight, you may be able to stay on this plan a long time, but as your fitness increases your body may need more carbohydrates to function properly and complete your workouts. Go to the Meal Plan Wizard if you think it may be time for a change.
Power Vegetarian Plan
The Power Vegetarian Plan gives you everything you need to live a meat-free lifestyle while building lean muscle, losing excess fat, staying energized, and getting a full range of nutrients. (This plan has no meat, fowl, or fish. It does contain some eggs and dairy—which you can remove when customizing your meals if you want a fully vegan plan.)
Active Lifestyle Plan
The Active Lifestyle Plan is for those who lead a balanced, healthy life that includes a lot of vigorous exercise. That means you need more energy from carbs than the average person, as well as plenty of muscle-supporting protein. During periods of lesser activity—if you’re bogged down at work or with the kids, or injured and not getting your usual amount of exercise—you might want to switch to the Balanced Slim Down plan until you’re back on your feet.
